At first I may be shy, but I’ll soon come around,
A little nudge from my snout is how friendship can be found.
I’ll jump right up to hug you, then enjoy a tasty treat,
While lounging in my pool—life really can’t be beat!
My name is June, though I answer to Juneuary, Junebug, and Juniper too. I used to live at another sanctuary, but the time came when they could no longer stay open and all of us needed new homes. One of the kind donors at Lotsa Heart Animal Sanctuary asked if there was room for me, and the answer was yes right away. I was the first one out the door. Leaving the people who loved me was hard, and I was quiet for a little while after I arrived, but not for long.
I am small for a pig, but I have never let that stop me. I am missing part of one ear from my life before, which does not bother me one bit, because I can still hear my people calling from across the yard and I always perk right up when I do. Usually I am hoping it means a treat. I like most people and I let them know with a nudge of my snout, but if they are sitting down, they should expect a lunging hug. I love hugs.
On hot South Carolina days you will find me in my pool, splashing and rolling and cooling off while the world goes on without me. I have friends here, a whole crew of them, and a soft place to sleep and people who scratch behind my one and a half ears without ever making a thing of it.
To the ones who cared for me before, I want you to know that I am happy and healthy!
